About New Year's Resolutions
The New Year celebrations have already begun, and we're about to mark off the
end of yet another year. As such, since the oncoming year is waiting just around
the corner, it's about time we thought about how to improve our past
shortcomings via the tried-and-true holiday tradition of listing our New Year's
resolutions. No one man can change the world without the help of many others,
but at the very least any man could take a look at himself, think about what he
has done wrong in the past year, and resolve to improve himself in the near
future in order to change his own personal worldview. Who knows? Maybe that
little change you've done in your life could compel change in society as a
whole.
New Year's resolutions are all about creating good habits, stopping bad habits,
changing your habits in general so that you could approach your life with a
fresh perspective, working harder, finding your one true love, losing weight,
improving your health, spending more time with your loved ones, and many other
goals that, sadly, would probably be forgotten before January is over. It's just
human nature to do so, but the resolve to actually make resolutions deserves at
least a modicum of appreciation. Also, being able to fulfill at least one of
them during the coming year is a great "bonus" and benefit to boot.
Whether you're an elderly person who wants to revisit the glories of your
untamed youth or impede the unstoppable progression of aging via

supplements, well-rounded diet,
anti-wrinkle creams, exercise
and Resveratrol or a young man
who wants very much to grow up as soon as possible so that you could enter a
world where you can enact change as a contributing member of society, your New
Year's resolutions could totally help you out with your goals care of promises
such as "I want to be healthier and more youthful than before," or "I want to
become a much more mature and responsible individual than last year."
While it's all well and good to write down your little wish list and then get
excited over it for the first couple of weeks or so, resolutions are usually
dumped as soon as other topics of interest surface. Just as people don't usually
care about Valentine's Day until February 14, they'll probably forget about
their New Year's resolutions in a few weeks at most or even a few hours after
making them. For many people, it's a custom not unlike opening presents on
Christmas day or kissing under the mistletoe that they humor for the sake of
tradition but aren't obligated to do so.
Well, even if there's no requirement for us to fulfill our New Year's
resolutions, everyone should keep in mind that this is a practice that will
ultimately do us good in the long run. Sure, it'd take a lot of consistent
effort to achieve these holiday pledges, and most people couldn't even be
bothered keeping something that's not obligatory; however, it wouldn't hurt to
try and it would certainly be a pleasant surprise to realize that, "Hey, I was
able to keep last year's resolution!" once the next January 1 comes along.
