Facial Exercises to Get Rid of a Double Chin

More people than ever before are concerned with looking young, and a big part of looking young is taking care of your face. Fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration and sagging give away your age in an instant, and since your face is the first thing other people see, reducing those signs of aging is a big priority.

How To Get Rid Of The Double Chin!

Another sign of aging that many people detest when they look in the mirror is the double chin. Contrary to what many people believe, a double chin is not always due to being overweight. Many people of a healthy weight start to see a double chin as they age, because facial muscles are not as strong as they used to be, and skin starts to sag.

Although some people may resort to plastic surgery to get rid of that double chin, plastic surgery is not a permanent solution. Over time, muscles will sag once again, and the problem will come back, especially if you don’t pay attention to your health in other areas. There are less expensive and longer-lasting ways to reduce or even eliminate a double chin.

The muscle called the platysma is the muscle most responsible for slack and sagging in the neck and double chin area. Exercising this area will tone the muscle, just as exercises for other muscles tone the rest of your body. There are several good exercises that can be done easily and quickly to reduce your double chin, but you’ll want to make sure you’re alone while you do them, because some of them look rather ridiculous!

“The Scoop”

Open your mouth as wide as you can. Suck your lower lip in so that it covers your bottom teeth. Open and close your mouth as though you were trying to scoop something up with your lower jaw. Repeat for three sets of fifteen reps, at least once a day. If you keep this up daily, you will see great results in a few weeks. This particular exercise works the platysma well.

“The Vertical Chew”

While sitting in a chair, look up towards the ceiling. Jut out your lower jaw as far as you can and begin to make chewing motions. This exercise should also be done in three sets of fifteen reps, and least once a day. This exercise really works all the muscles in your jaw, including the important platysma and mentalis muscles, and will reduce the appearance of a double chin considerably.

“Kiss the Sky”

Keep your body in a position similar to the “Vertical Chew.” While looking at the ceiling, pucker your lips as far out as you can and hold for five seconds. Repeat this exercise ten times, at least once a day.

Another exercise that is surprisingly good at firming up the double chin area is to chew sugarless gum. Of course, bubble gum would work just as well, but the extra calories and sugar would really add up, and gaining weight will not help you in your quest to look younger and more attractive. Sugarless gum is inexpensive, and can be chewed all day long by most people (unless of course you are forbidden to chew gum at work, or participate in an activity where chewing would be a choking hazard.)

Not seeing results fast enough? Try a firming facial anti aging cream. Creams like LifeCell, which firm and tone the skin at the same time as they hide imperfections, are growing increasingly popular. At one time, it was normal for only women to have both skin firming creams and cosmetic cover-ups or concealers in their daily beauty routine, but now both men and women have access to products like LifeCell, which conceal flaws like fine lines and wrinkles, but also work all day long to increase skin firmness. Using these anti wrinkle creams on your neck will reduce a double chin over time, and if combined with facial exercises, they will give speedy results.

If you’re one of the many people who have multiple concerns about their physical appearance, facial exercises alone may not be enough. Most people these days have numerous areas of the body they wish to improve, and want to be healthier, stronger, and more energetic as well. If this is the case for you, you may want to consider HGH therapy. Human Growth Hormone, produced by the pituitary gland, regulates many processes in the human body, including aging and metabolism. When there is HGH deficiency (the body produces less as we age) the metabolism becomes sluggish, and weight gain is usually the result. Sagging skin, a reduced ability to gain and keep muscle tone, fine lines and wrinkles, less energy, and a longer time to recover from stress or workouts are all symptoms of falling HGH levels.

All of these symptoms used to be considered “normal” signs of aging, but medical science has discovered that we do not need to age in the uncomfortable and unflattering ways we used to think were “normal.” Although HGH seems to be the “miracle” cure many people have been waiting for, it is illegal to take in most countries unless prescribed by a doctor, and HGH injections are very expensive. Ordering HGH off the internet in order to save money exposes you to the possibility of jail time, not to mention that there is no way to know what a shady company might be putting in those needles. If they can afford to sell it cheaply, it is probably not pure.

Luckily, there are many high quality HGH supplements available that prompt the body to make more of its own, natural HGH. These supplements contain what are known as “HGH precursors” and they essentially trick your body into upping its own HGH levels. In addition to being legal without a prescription and less expensive than HGH shots, these supplements ensure that you will not end up getting a dangerous overdose of HGH, since your own body will not produce this hormone in dangerous amounts.

There are many different supplements out there, but it is wise to stick with those that have a money back guarantee. Since different precursors may work differently for different people, and you may have to try a few different supplements before finding the perfect one, it’s best to stick with high quality, guaranteed products. Some of these products include Genf20 Plus, Sytropin, GHR1000, Hypergh 14x and Provacyl. Of course there are many other supplements out there that can help you achieve the anti-aging effects you crave, including a reduction in your double chin.

There are many different ways to tackle health and appearance related issues, and it is good advice to do a lot of detailed research before trying a treatment. When you find a routine that works for you, stick to it and you’ll see great results!

  1. Excuse me while I kiss the sky! You definitely should not do these facial exercises in public unless you don’t care that some people might think you are a nut! LOL Otherwise these are great exercises for removing the not so sexy double chin or even the triple chin!

  2. When I was young, people think I’m cute because I was more like a chubby kid growing up. Unfortunately, I outgrew that cuteness even while double chins and extra pounds stayed. That’s why I’m working hard to get rid of them and get out of the overweight level. Thank you for the insights you shared in this article. I’m excited to try the effectiveness of your tips!

  3. Wow! Facial massage is truly a w-o-w! it can do a lot of things. I think, patience would be a virtue when it comes to embracing the normal route towards looking and feeling young./ Facial massage would not deliver the same immediate result that surgical procedures can offer, right? But they are a lot safer and that truly matters!
