Is Your Erectile Dysfunction Caused by Porn

Did you know that 1 out 4 men, or 25%, who have erectile dysfunction are under the age of 40. The Journal of Sexual Medicine just released their study recently and that was one of the stats included. That’s significantly different than a Dutch study back in 2002 that found that 2% of men under the age of 40 suffered from erectile dysfunction. So why the change? Why the huge spike in ED, which leads to ‘no love’ in the bedroom.couple in bed

There are many theories about the increase in erectile dysfunction in younger men. These theories include things like too much stress, not enough honesty, not attracted to ones partner, and the list goes on. But what might surprise you, is some recent research that says, online porn can play a role in erectile dysfunction.

According to some sex therapists, porn is both inspiration and sexually motivating. However, what many guys are not aware of is that if you masturbate too often, especially if it’s before you want to have sex with your partner, these recent orgasms could make it hard for you to perform and may leave you with ED, even lower your interest in having sex.

For those men who have long dry spells with no sex, frequently masturbating to porn can train your body and mind to only sexually respond to specific visual stimuli. According to sex therapists, what happens is that the images on the screen and your hand become your sexual triggers.

Thankfully, you can recondition your brain. It starts by shutting down the ‘one man band.’ No more solo sessions are the best option. However, since that’s not likely to happen, we have some other suggestions. If you are watching porn and you watch only one kind of porn then try watching something different and don’t be afraid to experiment. If you use the same hand action all the time, then change it. Making these changes can help your mind and body open up to a wider degree of sexual sensations.

Of course, erectile dysfunction can also be the result of a medical problem, so you should make sure to see your doctor for a full physical work up and then after that you can determine the next course of action.

One study specifies that men who were treated for erectile dysfunction with PDEF inhibitors(Livtra and Viagra) for around 6 months, had significantly higher sexual gratification and higher performance confidence. However, there relationship satisfaction didn’t get better.

No surprise, since erectile dysfunction affects more than just you getting an erection. The same study showed that ED can affect your ego, self-esteem and mood. So while grabbing for a pill like vigrx keep in mind that improved sexual function does not always determine whether your are in a happy healthier relationship.
