Professional Athletes, Bodybuilders and the Use of HGH

Many studies have taken a look at the similarities between anabolic steroids and human growth hormone, otherwise known as Human Growth Hormone (HGH). However, the majority of the findings discovered by these studies strongly suggest that HGH is unequivocally the better choice. The only real similarities between these two substances are that both are known to make the cell of muscles larger, which is also referred to as muscular hypertrophy. The main differences lie in the fact that human growth hormone can help burn fat as well, while also strengthening tendons and cartilage. Furthermore, the number of cells in the muscles is also increased in someone taking HGH which is known as muscular hyperplasia. As a result if the person stops taking his or HGH, then the results do not cease or disappear immediately as would be the case with the steroids induced hypertrophy.

More and more athletes, all across the world, are beginning to try human growth hormone treatments. This is especially true of bodybuilders. One of the reasons it is so popular is because it does not show up in urine tests meant to test for drugs. To get the most out of HGH many athletes take it with a mixture of other substances, such as anabolic steroids, thyroid hormone, and insulin. In order to get consistent results, users need to be injected with it several times. Within the United States, Europe and Canada, an increasing number of athletes and bodybuilders have been using HGH.

Not so long ago, the synthetic form of human growth hormone used today was hardly even a dream. In lieu of it, people who needed HGH had to use extracts of the hormone -- taken from the pituitary glands of cadavers. This sounds very dangerous and, in truth, it was. Ultimately, there was a link discovered between HGH that had been recovered this way and the emergence of Creutzfeldt Jakob disease, a very fatal and rare disease of the brain. Only a small number of the people using the cadaverous form of human growth hormone were affected by this disease but, understandably, the Federal Food and Drug Administration decreed that this method should no longer be used or sold. Currently in France There is a law suit to get justice for people that contracted this disease from contaminated HGH in the eighties.

Thus research sped up to develop a synthetic form of HGH. Originally, the company Genentech released Protropin. After that, Humatrope was introduced by Eli Lilly. Its formula was different, in that a mere 191 amino acids were used, whereas Protropin used a chain of 192 amino acids. Surprisingly, studies revealed that Humatrope was a more effective version.

There is no question that the development of synthetic HGH has been extremely beneficial. Unfortunately, these innovations did not make it easier to afford the supplements. Even today, the cost is extremely expensive. Athletes who regularly use HGH can spend upwards of two thousand dollars each month.

Nowadays, there are a number of different HGH supplements to be found in Europe. Quite a few of them are very similar to Humatrope, with its 191 chains of amino acids. Of course, many places still rely on the original formula found in Protropin. Athletes are not the only people who benefit from them. People who have dwarfism and other hormone deficiencies use them as well.

The pituitary gland produces the HGH which is found in the body naturally. It produces more when people are in their teenage years, which is a time of significant growth. In particular, it is then significant in promoting the growth of tissues and the breakdown of fats and proteins so they can be used as energy. As the body ages, less HGH is produced. This is wholly natural. One of the reasons people use HGH treatments is to turn back time.

In theory, HGH injections are beneficial. However, dissenting opinions are starting to rear their heads more frequently. A lot of athletes are now disappointed in the effects of HGH injections. There have been studies which suggest that antibodies are counteracting the synthetic HGH. This is less common with Humatrope and similar formulas. However, it is still an increasingly common issue.

Some people believe that this counteracting phenomenon is due to the body's failure to respond to higher levels of the hormone, especially once the person taking it is past a specific age. At that point, the results cease to be as amazing as they once were. That is why some athletes combine HGH with anabolic steroids.

All the same, a lot of people all over the world are still using HGH -- including athletes. Some of them compete in universally famous athletic competitions like the Olympics; despite the fact that such substances are not allowed.

Those who use HGH do so for at least six weeks or longer. A lot of them continue receiving the treatment until it becomes too expensive. Users rarely report side effects but they are possible. Diabetes, skin problems, joint disorders, and Acromegaly are some of them.

By all accounts, most suspect that, in due time, the use of HGH treatments in athletes will become as illegal as the use of steroids. Still if interested in getting the effects of HGH you could always consider natural HGH Supplements such as Cloud Nine HGH, HGH Energizer, GHR1000, Sytropin, Provacyl, Genfx, Z-tropin and Genf20. In addition to being legal and much more affordable HGH supplements are very safe and as far as we know never caused any side effects in anyone; needless to say make sure that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients.
