#16653 What are the dangers of Botox? What are the side effects of Botox?
Botox is a brand name of a formula that, when injected into the skin, can temporarily diminish the appearance of wrinkles. Another brand name for a similar product is Dysport. The reason these products can erase the look of wrinkles is because they are made with botulism toxin, which weakens facial muscles and prevents them from contracting in such a way as to create wrinkles.
Botulism is the same toxin found in honey, which is why it is not recommended to give honey to infants under one year of age. This can cause botulism in infants.
It is true that if properly constituted Botox formula is used correctly by a skilled and practiced physician, that it can get rid of wrinkles without side effects. However, the results are still temporary and usually last less than six months.
If Botox is not used properly--for instance, if it is watered down or otherwise cut with something else in order to charge you more (you are usually charged for the amount used, not the area treated) it can be dangerous. Allergic reactions can result, or you could end up with that "frozen face" look.
If the person treating you with Botox isn't skilled, you could end up with on of the serious Botox side effects, like facial paralysis. This can happen with the needle hits and damages a nerve in your face.
Not only can Botox be dangerous, but it is also expensive. There are other, more natural ways to achieve a younger, smoother appearance!

#17701 In my opinion, there are natural, more effective ways to get the same procedure but with less harmful chemicals getting put into your body. There are doctors doing studies right now to try and protect you from all the dangers of . These doctors are, for example, making two small incisions into the upper lip, sucking fat from the stomach or thigh, purifying it, and reinjecting it into your lip. thus, getting the same results as botox but with your bodys own fat. therefore, the body heals in less time, as little as one day, but you will be getting the same results. so before getting botox and dealing with the extended healing process and the look of a "frozen face", i would do a little research and look into more natural but equally efficient ways.
