This came about through cancer research--doctors found a way to potentially starve tumors of their blood supply without harming any surrounding healthy tissue and thought: could this work for fat?

Yes it can, at least in mice, rats, and monkeys. Monkey biology is very similar to humans, and in obese monkeys who were given injections with this compound, they lost 11% of their body weight in four weeks! They lost fat, not muscle, and they lost abdominal fat. They also started responding to insulin better, suggesting that this could be a potential cure for Type 2 diabetes!

They haven't started human studies yet, but they are planning to start soon! This could really help people who are diseased and obese to get back on the right track and have a chance to get rid of Type 2 diabetes!

Like what about people who have bad circulation already? Can they really guarantee it won't cut off circulation to anything but fat cells?
