- Fri Dec 23, 2011 2:34 am #23105 Can anyone help me understand this? I'm looking into HGH injections to help me lose weight and prevent wrinkles. Not only are they expensive, but I came across research that says that HGH injections can actually reduce my own natural levels of HGH? That's doesn't make sense to me. How can HGH injections reduce hgh?

Pretty much no matter what hormone or compound you make, there is a system in your body that senses how much is in your blood stream, and throttles down or even turns off "the tap" when it senses a certain amount. Too much artificial product can make your body think "wow, I've got plenty of this, no need to make more" and sometimes it gets so bad that your body sort of "forgets" how to make the substance at all. That would make you dependent on supplementation for the rest of your life.
