- Sat Feb 25, 2012 3:52 am #27546 careful. just because something is natural or herbal does not mean it is free of side effects. many herbal medicines can be used safely, but there are some, for example, that shouldn't be taken while pregnant because it can cause miscarriage, and some that should not be taken if you take prescription blood-thinners or OTC painkillers. it is important to research natural remedies carefully before adding them to your health regimen. if you have researched all the possible effects and are comfortable taking it, then do! Many people have great results from natural medicines, which are cheaper and easier to get than the stuff peddled by Big Pharma!
