How To Look Younger Just By Changing Your Hair Style! |

Haircuts That Make You Look
Older
You can spend money and time on just the right makeup, color your hair to
hide the grey, and work out regularly to keep your body in shape. However, you
can ruin all your best efforts with the wrong haircut. There are certain styles
that can add up to 10 years to your look. It is important to understand what
haircuts make you look older so that you can avoid these pitfalls.
Avoid Sculpted Styles
There was a time when carefully sculpted haircuts were in vogue. Today,
however, this will make you look older for two reasons. First, light, flowing
locks are far more advantageous to a younger look. Less product or product that
is formulated to be almost unnoticeable is preferable over those sprays,
mousses, and gels that hold every hair in place. Second, this is a dated look
because it was so popular in the 1950s. By wearing your hair in a carefully
sculpted style, you are taking on the look of another era and thus making
yourself seem older.
Be Careful With Braids
When you think of little schoolgirls, braids and pigtails often come to mind.
This might lead you to believe that under most, if not all conditions, braids
will be conducive to a youthful look. This, sadly, is not true. A severe French
braid that pulls all hair away from your face and pulls every hair on your head
into place will make you look older, in an old fashioned “school marm” sort of
way. Loose braids or braids that allow hair to escape around your face will give
you the youthful look you are seeking.
Watch The Up-Dos
Of course, a pretty chignon or a loose bun has its place; we have seen them
on the red carpet and at formal gatherings. However, if your chosen hair style
makes those around you think of beehives or mounds of mashed potatoes, it is too
high, too awkward, and will make you look old and a little silly. Remember that
today's updo should look like it can be shaken loose by removing a few carefully
place pins. You should avoid a look that appears to be held together by gel and
hairspray.
Pick The Right Bangs
Bangs have come and gone, but they never truly go out of style. Part of the
reason for this is because they are an excellent tool for hiding a wide
forehead. However, not all bangs are created equal. The key to having pretty,
youthful bangs is for them to be light and perhaps a little uneven. Side swept
bangs are very popular, with a little forehead showing and the overall look
being easy and a little messy. Heavy bangs that feature a blunt cut straight
across the brow line are very severe and will make you look older and very
serious.
Frizzy, Perm-style Curls
Women with natural curls have what many of their 80's counterparts paid good
money for every six weeks. The problem is that those perm curls were so popular
during that decade that women sporting all-over frizzy curls look like they are
dating themselves. If your hair is naturally curly, you are still quite blessed.
However, you should avoid letting those curls become frizzy or ratty. There are
many conditioners, relaxers, and other products that can help you keep your
curls under control, and the ultimate result will be a much younger look.
Straight Hair Has Its Drawbacks Too
While frizzy, messy curls can add years to your look, you can have the same
problem with stick straight locks. Using a hair straightener for that flat,
straight look will ultimately give your hair a lifeless appearance that will
make you look quite a bit older than you are. You can remove some of your curls
while still allowing your hair to enjoy a little bounce and wave.
