Facial Exercises to Get Rid of Laugh Lines without Surgery

If you’re starting to see some unwanted lines on your face, you’re not alone. The amount of pollution we’re exposed to daily in the air and also in our food (unless you eat a completely organic diet) is causing signs of aging to appear at younger and younger ages. Even if you are very careful with your skin care routine and diet, it can be hard to avoid those laugh lines radiating from the corners of your nose to the corners of your mouth. Often these lines extend even past the corners of your mouth as you approach middle age, and advance towards your jaw line.

How To Get Rid Of The Double Chin!

Many people are turning to surgeries to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines. Surgeries are expensive, and come with inherent risks. Going under anaesthetic can cause complications, not to mention the risk of infection and scarring. Because of this, more and more people are trying to find natural, non-invasive ways to reduce and prevent the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and sagging.

For this reason, facial exercises are becoming more popular. Although some plastic surgeons caution against the use of facial exercises, claiming that they can actually worsen wrinkles, it is obvious that they have an avid interest in promoting surgery over less expensive alternatives. Performed properly, facial exercises do not cause additional wrinkles or lines to form, and can help reduce the appearance of lines over time.

As cheeks start to sag, the lines that appear between the corners of the nose and mouth when you smile become more prominent, even when your face is relaxed. This can result in an older, more tired look. To perk up your face and get back those youthful contours, the following facial exercises can be helpful.

“Model Cheekbones”

It’s best to do this exercise in front of a mirror, to make sure that you are doing it properly. Keeping your lips closed, make a small smile. The smile should not cause wrinkles to appear anywhere on your face. While holding this small smile, suck your cheeks inward. Hold this position for ten seconds, and then relax your face for five seconds. Repeat at least ten times, at least twice per day.

“Puckered Lip Extension”

Starting with a relaxed face, pucker your lips and stick them out as far as you can. Then, pull them upwards until your top lip touches your nose. Hold for ten seconds, and then relax your face for five seconds. Do this exercise in sets of at least ten, at least twice a day.

“Lip Press”

Take your index fingers and place them inside of your mouth, right at the corners. At least two inches of each finger should be in your mouth. Do not stretch the mouth or move the fingers in any way. Now, try to press your lips tightly together, even though the presence of your fingers keeps your lips from fully closing. You should try this exercise for ten minutes a day to see optimum results.

“Finger Trap”

Starting with your index fingers in the same position as mentioned above in the “Lip Press,” attempt to pull your fingers out of your mouth, but use your lips to keep them inside. Pull your fingers as hard as you can while still keeping them in your mouth with your lips. The idea is to activate the muscles around your mouth and in your cheeks by using the resistance of the pull of your fingers. This exercise should also be performed for about ten minutes a day.

“Anti-Gravity Massage”

When applying your favourite anti-aging cream, such as LifeCell, to your cheeks every morning and night, rub it in thoroughly using the same motion you see on cleanser commercials when the actress rinses her face with a splash of water. Basically, you are lightly running your hands outward and upward, which encourages your cheeks to lift into the higher position you desire. Repeat until the cream is well-rubbed in.

The above exercises will help you restore a more youthful contour to your face and prevent laugh lines. Everyone who does these exercises regularly should see an improvement, but results will of course depend on other factors, such as age, general state of health, diet, sun exposure, etc. A quality skin-care regimen will help you see results sooner. Such regimens usually include a good cleanser, toner, and anti-aging moisturizer. LifeCell is an anti-aging cream gaining popularity due to its ability to gradually improve skin firmness, colour and texture, while at the same time it also covers up signs of aging instantly due to its light-reflecting technology.

Another option for youth-seekers is to actually turn back the clock on all of the body’s aging systems, instead of just addressing facial wrinkles. Human Growth Hormone, or HGH, is produced by all humans. Levels peak in the late teens, and start to fall lower in the early twenties in most people. This hormone is responsible for all of the things we normally associate with youthfulness; energy, the ability to fall asleep easily and experience quality sleep, strength, flexibility, the ability to recover quickly from injury, and the ability to carry lean muscle without putting on too much fat mass. Unfortunately, as levels of this hormone decrease, symptoms of aging appear, including sagging, wrinkled skin. Unfortunately, HGH injections like Saizen, Norditropin, Genotropin and Humatrope are only approved by the FDA to treat HGH deficiency in children, and morbid obesity in adults, so many doctors will not prescribe this miracle medication to treat signs of aging. Instead, concerned individuals turn to supplements that prompt the body to produce more of its own HGH Supplements like Sytropin, Hypergh 14x, GHR1000, Genfx, Genf20 Plus, and HGH Advanced offer money-back guarantees, and are valued around the world for their ability to turn back the clock for a whole host of aging symptoms.

No matter which anti-aging route you choose, be sure to do your research and find a method that works for you.

  1. There is only so much these facial exercises can do for you. The problem is the thinning of the skin, so unless you can figure out how to reverse that maybe through laser resurfacing facial exercises should only be a single part of the puzzle.

  2. I certainly agree. Facial exercises can only go as far. There are so many problems underneath a wrinkled skin. Facial exercises can only address one but not all of them. So you see very little difference even after you religiously follow the workout to the letter. This writer was clever in divulging that there are other anti-aging routes that you may root for. You just have to do your homework, make some research so you know exactly what you are getting yourself into. Make an informed decision so you wouldn’t regret anything that you will do. Aside from the Internet resources available, including this very useful blog, you may consult an expert medical professional as well to advice you on what will actually work given your personal factors.

  3. Can facial exercises actually support all the problem areas for the old people? There are different facial execises to imp[rove the appearance of the different parts of the face. The question is, do they work? Or should I just trust the anti-aging supplements that are widely in brick and mortar stores and also in online stores.
